Position Overview:

Temple Scott Associates (TSA) is seeking an Administrative Assistant/Government Relations Researcher to work onsite at TSA’s Toronto office.

As TSA’s Administrative Assistant /Government Relations Researcher, you will play a key role in providing administrative support and daily government-related monitoring/research to the TSA Team. This position is an opportunity for a politically engaged individual looking to launch a career in government relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and modify documents, including correspondence, reports drafts, memos, and emails.
  • Monitor Ontario Question Period and Ontario government announcements and provide summary to TSA Consultants.
  • Assist in the preparation of regular internal reports.
  • Assist with formatting and creation of presentations.
  • Assist in supporting TSA’s social media accounts and online presence.
  • Assist with preparing for provincial meeting programs and/or Queen’s Park Advocacy Days.
  • Manage and/or troubleshoot hardware and software technical issues.
  • Field incoming calls and direct visitors.
  • Prepare boardroom in advance of meetings for staff and clients.
  • Manage and/or coordinate TSA Consultant administrative requests.
  • Coordinate and schedule internal and external meetings, appointments and/or travel arrangements.
  • Order office supplies.

Education / Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Completion of related post-secondary education OR minimum one (1) year of relevant work experience.
  •  Strong writing skills, including proofreading skills and typing accuracy, are a must in your preparation of documentation and proposals.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills and be able to prioritize to meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated individual with problem-solving skills.
  • Highly professional and knows how to anticipate the administrative needs of busy group of Consultants and bring a sense of positive energy into the work environment.
  • Understanding of Federal, Provincial and Municipal Governments.
  • Experience working as part of a team to achieve project or client goals.
  • Proven computer literacyincluding effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, is a must.
  • Available after hours, if required.
  • Fluency in both official languages is an asset.
